Installation Guide

System Requirements

No need to pre-install Node.js or any other dependency — everything is bundled inside the installer.


Windows Installation

Download

Visit the download page to get the latest .exe installer (v0.2.0).

Steps

  1. Double-click the .exe installer to run it
  2. If Windows Defender shows a security warning, click “More info” then “Run anyway”
  3. Follow the 5-step installation wizard (see below)

macOS Installation

Download

Visit the download page to get the latest .dmg installer (v0.2.0). The same installer supports both Intel and Apple Silicon.

Steps

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  2. Drag GetClaw to the Applications folder
  3. On first launch, right-click the app and select “Open” to pass Gatekeeper
  4. In the dialog that appears, click “Open” to confirm

The 5-Step Installation Wizard

After the installer launches, it guides you through:

The whole process typically takes 2–5 minutes, with no command-line input required.


Verify Installation

After installation, the dashboard should show:

  • Service status: Green (Running)
  • Install directory detected
  • Version number shown correctly (v0.2.0)

Common Installation Issues

Windows installer won’t run

  • Right-click the installer and select “Run as administrator”
  • Check if antivirus software is blocking it (add to whitelist and retry)
  • Confirm system is Windows 10 64-bit or later

macOS “Cannot verify developer”

  • Right-click the app and select “Open”
  • Or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, click “Open Anyway”

Setup gets stuck

  • Wait for the progress bar to complete — the environment extraction step can take 2–3 minutes
  • If no progress after 10 minutes, close and re-run the installer

Can’t launch after installation

  • Check if antivirus software is blocking the app
  • Ensure sufficient disk space (at least 500 MB)
  • Try reinstalling
